SMITH Eye Specula with Lock is an ophthalmic surgical instrument utilized by ophthalmic surgeons in order to gain access to the ocular surgical field. This device is featured with an adjustable mechanism provided with a manually operated screw and two wire blades. The surgeon inserts the blades under the respective eyelids and proceeds to rotate the screw in order to spread to an optimal length; this ensures a static retraction, thus freeing the surgeon's hands. This instrument is available in 11mm and 15mm blade sizes, with the intention of reaching a broad range of patients, including child and adults respectively.
