Sigma 50mm f / 1.4 DG HSM (A) Camera Lens is a fast prime-length standard designed to achieve high optical performance through the merging of both glass elements of Low Special Dispersion and one glass printed aspherical element. These elements, coupled with advanced optical designs, work to minimize sagittal coma flares and color aberrations to provide sharpness and high picture clarity. Lenses of large diameter and floating systems also help improve vignetting to ensure the peripheral brightness is maintained. A Super Multi Coating has been applied to lens elements as well, to reduce flare and ghosting for contrast and higher color fidelity.

A Hyper Sonic AF Motor, together with optimal AF algorithms, delivers quiet, smooth, and fast autofocus performance that utilizes the use of this lens in various situations. This AF motor also allows full-time manual focus control for fine precision by simply changing the focus ring anytime.
