Use this Mae Ploy paste to make the traditional Thai tom yum soup – a clear broth, usually made with shrimp, fish or mushrooms.
This tom yum paste is a blend of lemongrass, chilli, galangal, tamarind and kaffir lime peel, which together create the distinct hot, sour, sweet tom yum flavour. The shrimp paste and fish sauce add extra umami depth.

Mae Ploy Tom Yum Paste
Directions: - Add 50g of Tom Yum Paste into 2 1/2 cups (600 ml) boiling water, stir thoroughly - Add 200g fresh shrimp or fish, and 150g of mushroom or other vegetables - Cook until well done - Add lime juice, fish sauce, taste and season as required
Suggestion: One cup of water may be replaced with 1 cup (240 ml) coconut milk or milk in order to get thick Tom Yum soup.

Store in a cool dry place. Once opened, keep refrigerated and use within 6 months.
