When the Explorer first appeared alongside the Flying V and Firebird as part of Gibson’s “Modernist” Series in 1958, there were many who dismissed them as too radical and futuristic. They certainly didn’t look like anything anybody had seen before, and in particular, the angular shape of the Explorer was considered "out there". However, in time it came to have some serious backers in its corner and is still very much alive 60 years later. This Limited Edition Epiphone Lzzy Hale Explorer is the latest signature model from the Halestorm guitarist. The striking white finish is offset with Lzzy's class leading choice of hardware, all in gold. The mahogany neck is paired with a mahogany body loaded with Alnico Classic Pro humbucking pickups. Pearloid block inlays on an ebony fingerboard, and gold hardware including Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners and stoptail/Tune-o-matic bridge finish off the package.
